You may have studied film, are in a class, and looking for opportunities.

– You hear it’s about who you know, so you’re trying to network, but you only meet a lot of people who are trying to get in too.

– You may have a reel but maybe it’s old, or not that good yet, so you have doubts about what you can do.

– You look for jobs to apply to and don’t find much.

– You reach out and say, “If there’s a job, think of me?”

But we don’t have much we can say. We only have what we are “looking to do”, not what we’ve done.

So then you start thinking film is unstable, and go in another direction.

But you never stop having passion for it. “What if” is always in the back of your mind.

If this is you, it’s time for round two.

You can’t network your way into this industry.

You have to work your way in.

Working with you is how they get attached to you.

$800/day jobs, they just send you. No big deal to them, but a huge deal for you.

See… All the work comes from working.

They need to see you working—not networking.

The question isn’t whether you can afford to do this. You can. We are getting paid work!
