      Film Tax Credits New York

      The State of New York offers a 30% tax credit on qualified costs for feature films, episodic television series, Television pilots and presentations, TV movies and miniseries.

      Properties or services used in New York State that ae covered include technical services and crew production, facilities, props, makeup and wardrobe. Wages are usually excluded.

      There are 2 levels of eligibility:

      1. Level 1 – Production costs are under $15 million, must have a set and shoot once a day in NY. 75% of total expenses before post-production must be in New York.

      2. Level 2 – Production costs are over $15 million, must shoot on a specifically built set and 10% of principle days must be shot in New York.
        For features shooting in New York City, projects must be at Level 2 eligibility.

      New York Film Festival is a non-competitive festival presented by Film at Lincoln Center and was founded in 1963.

      Showing between 20 and 30 feature films and documentaries including international art house, new discoveries and studio releases targets toward awards season.
